And then there were two…
Wisin y Yandel have decided to pull out of the successful Jennifer Lopez and Enrique Iglesias tour about three weeks before arriving to the U.S. In a press release posted on Twitter, the reggaeton duo explained that they were “forced” to quit the tour due to production issues that weren’t being resolved.
The president of the tour’s promotional services, AEG Live, Randy Phillips, confirmed that their decision to quit was due to a “host of things” and explained to The Hollywood Reporter, "It was better for their careers to do their own tour than to be a third act on this tour," he expressed. "There were timing issues, how long the show could be and just a myriad of issues."
The “Follow the Leader” stars, which toured with Enrique Iglesias in a top-selling international tour back in 2009, confirmed the tour drama in a statement: “We have decided to retire from the tour. We want to extend our sincerest apologizes to our fans. We wish Jennifer and Enrique the best. We will try our best to announce a tour in the U.S. in the near future."
Wisin y Yandel have already launched a solo tour throughout Mexico and are dropping their latest album, Lideres, tomorrow.
