What have people said to you when they hear you’re doing a new Rosemary’s Baby?
Overall, every time that you remake something or you redo something or you retell something, it’s never going to be accepted. So that you remove that pressure off the table. I don’t want to limit myself from great opportunities. And being a woman in this business and being a woman of color, it’s a much longer road. So I don’t want to turn down good material just because I’m afraid of what others might think.
Will it play in the Dominican Republic?
I hope so.
Will you do the voiceover for it?
No, I should ask… but it might be a long… ay. I would have to be in a voice studio for a day or two… you know what, I can’t. [laughs] It’s the hardest thing whenever you go and you’re looking at a scene and you’re like, I can’t replicate that. Or when you have to do those sensual, moaning sounds. Omigod. It’s not pretty.
Catch Rosemary’s Baby Sunday May 11 on NBC at 9/8C.
