Who doesn't love Jake T. Austin? The charismatic 19-year-old actor has grown up quite a bit since his days starring alongside Selena Gomez on Disney Channel's Wizards of Waverly Place. Austin is now busy stealing (and breaking) hearts as Jesus Foster on ABC Family's, The Fosters.
We caught up with the young star to get the scoop on his character in season two, find out what he looks for in a girl, and more.
Read it all in our exclusive interview below:
Tell us a little about the similarities and differences between you and your character.
Jesus and I share a few similarities, which is why I enjoy playing this role. I can draw from things about myself and relate them to my character.
After watching the season finale, it seems Jesus and Emma could wind up together. And although it seems things are completely over with Lexi, who do you want Jesus to ultimately wind up with: Lexi or Emma? Or do you think he should just be alone for a while?
I think Jesus should wind up with Emma in season two of The Fosters. For Jesus, the pressure of having to choose between two girls he really likes is something he's gotten used to. In the end, I believe Jesus will make the right choice. Stay tuned!
Do you think Jesus has any regrets when it comes to how things ended with Lexi?
Jesus and Lexi will always have something special and things we left unresolved when Lexi was deported back to Honduras. I believe everything happens for a reason and the question remains: Will she come back to Jesus?
Have you ever been caught between two girls?
Everyone can relate to being stuck in a spot where you have to choose between two people you equally like. Sometimes, the right ones come back because it was meant to be!
What do you look for in a girl?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Personally, I look for a girl who is comfortable in her own skin and not afraid to stand up for what she wants. If she's not afraid to express herself, I find that attractive.
Great answer! Now "Adoption Day" sort of left things hanging in the balance for Callie and the rest of the family. How do you think this will affect/change the dynamics of the Fosters' household?
"Adoption Day" left things hanging in the balance for Callie and it's intense! I feel like this experience will ultimately bring the family closer together.
Do you think Callie's romance with Brandon will spark up again now that she thinks she can't or possibly won't be adopted?
Brandon and Callie's romance was forbidden for a while, and if she ends up getting adopted, things could really change for them...
I'm rooting for "Brallie"! I want fans to be surprised with season two, so I won't give too much away, but I think they will be very pleased with the season finale!
