Jaime Camil is coming to American television! The Mexican actor has landed a leading role in upcoming U.S. television sitcom Jane The Virgin. The show, based on the Venezuelan telenovela Juana la Virgen, co-stars Gina Rodriguez.

Jane the Virgin centers on Jane Rodriguez, a hardworking religious girl who -- due to a series of ridiculous events -- is accidentally artificially inseminated.

Camil, 40, will play Rubio, an international telenovela actor with a surprising connection to Jane. The role should be an easy part for Camil, whose best known for his work on Spanish-language dramas La Fea Mas Bella and Por Ella Soy Eva

The Mexicano seems excited about his new show, taking to Twitter to reveal the news. "I'm very excited about this new project and about working with very talented people! @CW_network See you soon," he tweeted

Can't wait to see the new CW show! Will you be watching?
