He takes Cassandra outside for a chat (IN THE RAIN, JUAN PABLO? REALLY?) and basically tells her he doesn’t see a future with her and that he doesn’t want to waste her time and keep her from her son any longer. So – HAPPY BIRTHDAY CASSANDRA, THE GUY YOU’RE FALLING FOR DOESN’T LOVE YOU. (Ugh, Juan Pablo, ugh.)
Clare gets the one-on-one date and I thought their date would be way more weird, dramatic, or interesting than it was. She tells the camera “there’s a difference between being honest and hurting someone’s feelings.” Truth! But Juan Pablo plays darling dad, and tells her he has never kissed a girlfriend in front of his daughter, but again WHERE IS CAMILA? IS SHE HIDING IN THE CLOSET? Clare deludes herself into believing his niceties and even confuses his words for an “apology” (which he never does actually say) and they make out and change into sweatpants and T-shirts and have a casual dinner by the fire, and I guess that is the most normal couple-y thing you could do so I don’t even really know what side I’m on anymore.
