If your ship was sinking, what would you gather first before jumping overboard? If you’re asking Uruguayan designer Gabriela Perezutti-Isacson she’d have to say: Lots of white lace, pointed flats and a couple bottles of hairspray.
“The inspiration for the collection was sailing, nautical things,” lead hair stylist Amy Farid tells us. “Gabriela sails, her husband is big sailor. So we’ve created this woman who is a fancy lady going to the Caribbean with her friends. They have this immaculate hair that is super structured and makeup done.”

A couple of minutes before the Argentine Designers Spring 2014 fashion show began on Friday night, we were sort of anticipating lots of flashiness and hyped-up color, because, well, you know those Argentinos sure love to go all out. What we saw, instead, was something in between.

The inspiration for CZAR Cesar Galindo's Spring/Summer 2014 presentation focused on the impact of modern technology and having the world at your fingertips. The beauty result was far out: A chic, techno pony fit for an extraterrestrial!
O&M creative director, Janelle Chaplin, told us just how she created the standout do.

Charlotte Ronson is the queen of cool, so it's no surprise that Carrie Diaries stars Chloe Bridges and AnnaSophia Robb showed up for her Spring 2014 fashion presentation last night. And even though Charlotte's clothes shine on their own (Who wouldn't love that awesome crop top in the photo?), it was the gorgeous, effortless hair I couldn't stop staring at all night.

Lots of lucky people get to see the latest collections come down the runway each season at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, but few get to see the clothes up close and personal...before the runway show even happens! That's why we knew we couldn't pass up the opportunity when Custo Barcelona invited us downtown to their Soho boutique to check out the Spring/Summer 2014 collection up close & personal.

So it's day two of Fashion Week and (you can already see it on every editor, blogger & buyer's faces) we're tired. Which is why when I opened my inbox this morning I knew that KMart Fashion had nailed it with this set of Emojis they created just for Fashion Week. You can check them out and use them for yourself (great for Instagram, Twitter & Facebook!) on KMart Fashion's Facebook page.
Here's how I'm feeling on day two of Fashion Week:

Target's designer collaborations seem to get better and better. At the Phillip Lim for Target launch party, the designer showed off his designs with big stars in tow: Jessica Alba, Solange, Maria Sharapova, Emile Hirsch, Nate Berkus and more joined the red carpet and rocked his line!

The first show of Spring/Summer 2014, BCBGMAXAZRIA, is always a great kickoff to Fashion Week. I love seeing BCBG because it's ready-to-wear and let's face it - all women (including celebs like Fergie) LOVE this super-sexy-but-casual brand!
For spring, muted grays and creams were accented by black and white along with watercolor prints.
Flat on top with textured ends, the hair at BCBG looked like it had been slept-in. Its easy nature partnered well with the natural makeup for an overall downtown cool vibe.

An hour before the show is about to begin fashion designer Paola Hernandez is prepping the looks, models are hanging outside texting on their phones, and the bartender is setting up his station. It’s pretty hot and chaotic inside Churner and Churner Gallery, the Chelsea art space that is hosting Hernandez’ Spring 2014 Collection titled Singularity, and we don’t mind the mayhem one bit.

Technically speaking, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week starts tomorrow here in New York City, but somehow it feels like it's already been going on for a week! There's so much planning and prep that goes into an editor's Fashion Week schedule, so we cannot even imagine how much planning went into putting together each designer's collections for Spring/Summer 2014.
