Maria del Carmen Bousada died last week at the age of 69, leaving behind her 2-year-old twin boys. She was the oldest woman on record ever to give birth. Though she was 65 at the time she was impregnated, the Española lied to doctors at the Pacific Fertility Clinic in Los Angeles, telling them she was 55—the age limit for in vitro fertilization—in order to fulfill her dream of motherhood. Bousada, who was a single mom, gave birth to Pau and Christian in December 2006 at the age of 66.
