While many pregnant women think their days of being fashionable and chic are over for 9 months, Latina magazine’s August cover girl, Jessica Alba, isn’t one of them. The Mexican American beauty has been consistently spotted wearing trendy outfits throughout her second pregnancy and demonstrating to mami’s everywhere that it’s possible to stay stylish and fabulous while expecting.

Getting married to the person you love and want to spend the rest of your life with is such a beautiful testament to the relationship you have with one another. I can’t wait until the day comes for me to experience that milestone in my own life and I believe EVERYONE should be entitled to this form of expression. The right to wed should be solely based on love and not on gender.

Flashy and sassy styles never go out of fashion, especially for a special night out! So it's no surprise that sequined animal-print dresses have been all the rage lately.
Eva Mendes was an early adopter of this trend, rocking a one-shoulder silver and blue dress leopard print dress for the 2010 MTV Movie Awards. Cameron Diaz recently wore a sequined Pucci tunic dress on the red carpet for the Moscow premiere of her new film Bad Teacher.

Recently there was a dry run for the arrival of the wedding with a Kate Middleton look-alike in tow. It is said that she will arrive in a car surrounded with about one thousand members of the British military on their horses and the newly minted royal couple will leave in a horse and carriage for their “first” kiss. Needless to say, Kate’s going to make a grand entrance, as it should be, since it is a royal wedding and millions of viewers will be watching. It brought up a question I’ve have been asking myself for months now: Should I have a grand entrance?

Since I’ve announced my wedding date, the amount of people who have offered to help in the process has been incredible. It’s been very telling of how much love we have around us, which makes me confident in knowing our day will be special because it will be filled with people who truly wish us well. Among these great people are many women – women that I love from all aspects of mine and Hector’s life. I have close cousins, childhood friends, adult life-long friends, and a sister of my own, not to mention all these types of women in Hector’s life as well.

While I was still working on other details of the wedding I realized my mom had been patiently waiting for me to call on her. My sister (her only other daughter) eloped, so you can imagine her excitement to be involved in my wedding. I learned early on in this process that if you involve too many people you will get frustrated if they impose on your decision-making, so my plan was to try and include the people close to me in individual things, making it special for them as well. My mom loves clothes and shopping, so naturally I wanted her to shop with me for my wedding dress.

In life there are ups and downs and in marriage, you commit to "better or worse, in sickness and health," right? Well, after being engaged I knew I was ready to take that on. I envisioned Hec and I as two little old people taking care of one another and having silly, unimportant bickering like only two people that have spent their entire lives together can do.

People have always told me what a nightmare it can be when creating your wedding guest list, but, of course, I thought it’d be different for me. After researching wedding guest list etiquette, I was certain that by following a few standards I could keep my initial (intimate) number down to 100 guests.
The criteria is as follows:
- You must know both of us
- Be a close family member or a childhood friend (or friend of many years).

And so the planning begins!
While I had some ideas of my own, I thought I should have a brainstorming session with my fiancé and get a feel for his thoughts on the nuptials. But when I sat down with Hector on a Saturday afternoon, super excited to begin laying out my dream wedding, I was hit with the harsh reality that Hector and I didn’t see eye to eye on this. Not only did Hec not want a big production; he also didn’t want to be all that involved in the planning process either – what’s a girl to do?!
