In order to keep up with the fast-growing and ever-changing Latino demographic, Univision and Disney are currently discussing the possibility of launching a 24-hour news channel for English-speaking Latinos in the U.S. The proposed new channel comes in light of the 2010 census results, which highlights that Latinos born in the U.S. make up for 60 percent of our nation’s growth in the last ten years. The news channel may premiere just in time for the presidential election in November, but neither company has gone on the record to confirm.

Univision is working on expanding its reach. In their new expansion plan, the network will grow from programming on three channels to 12 channels in order to target a wider range of viewers, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

—Puerto Rican reggaeton artist Daddy Yankee was spotted in Las Vegas with 62 year-old Dominican television presenter Charytín in a yellow sports-car several days before the 2011 Latin Grammy Awards, according to People en Espanol. The 34 year-old singer is nominated for an award this year and is appearing in a televised special with Charytín prior the award show broadcast on Univision.

CHiPs alum Erik Estrada and comedian George Lopez have been feuding for years. Lopez has often made fun of Estrada in his stand-up comedy and they've both traded insults—sometimes via video. At one time, Estrada said that he even went as far as to confront Lopez at a church carnival and said that Lopez was too chicken to fight him.
