While listening to a segment on NPR about women in Latin hip-hop, we got to thinking about some of our favorite Latinas who have made waves in the hip-hop world. Here are 10 of the best Latina MC's of all time:

Hip-hop artist, Trina established herself as the "Diamond Princess" after the release of her sophomore album, sharing the same title, dropped in 2005. Since then, the rapper has produced several hits including her fourth album, Still The Baddest, which debuted at number one on the Billboard charts.
We heard the Florida-based artist is Latina, so we tracked her down to get a breakdown of her roots. Find out what she had to say below:
What is your ethnic background?
"My dad is Dominican and my mom is from the Bahamas."

Most of them may not sing—or rap—in Spanish, but all of these musicians can certainly lay claim to some degree of Latin-ness. And whether they’re 1/18th Mexican, as in Fergie’s case, or half Puerto Rican like Maxwell, we’re proud to sing their praises.
