Cuban Film 'Una Noche' Wins In Tribeca Film Festival: Stars Evade Premiere to Stay in the U.S.

The 2012 Tribeca Film Festival honored its top picks from its long roster of new movies during an award ceremony last night. The Cuban film, Una Noche, proved to be a favorite among the judges. It won in three categories including, “Best Cinematography,” and “Best New Narrative Director”. Directed by Lucy Mulloy, she will receive upwards of $100,000 for post-production costs.

The NYC Tribeca Film Festival kicks off its 11th year tonight. The revered festival, co-founded by Robert De Niro, will run from through April 29. Latina favorite Rosario Dawson will serve as judge in the TAA Creative Promise Award—Narrative category along with Cuba Gooding, Jr., Mekhi Phifer and Gabourey Sidibe.
