20-year-old Argentinean phenom Juan Martín Del Potro stunned the world last night when he defeated the number one ranked Roger Federer in the final match of the U.S. Open tennis tournament.
After winning both Wimbledon and the French Open, and with second ranked Rafael Nadal ailing from a injury, Federer seemed a shoe-in for his sixth consecutive U.S. Open win. But Del Potro managed to stop him right in his tracks.

Javier Florez, a soccer player for Atletico Junior, killed a fan on Sunday because he was among a group who blamed Florez for losing the title in the Apertura tournament against Once Caldas.
“The young men shouted at him, ‘Weak, weak,’ and he [Florez] turned around, took a gun and shot,” said a witness to the shooting, which took place in Barranquilla.

Alex Rodriguez opened up about his steroid use during a press conference held yesterday at the Yankee's Spring Training facilities in Tampa Bay, Florida. And although he admits he "screwed up" by using the anabolic steroid known on the street as "Boli" (Deca-Durabolin, Dianabol or Primobolan) he never completely owned up to the responsibility of his actions. "I didn't think they were steroids," Rodriguez said. "That's again part of being young and stupid. It was over the counter. It was pretty simple."

Adios, A-Rod. After pretty much dropping the ball during the playoffs, highly-paid Dominican baseball player Alex Rodriguez has left the Yankees. Aww...no more stripper scandals in New York? But, with the $30 million annual salary he's asking as a free agent, we're sure he'll have the cash to get himself in trouble elsewhere soon.
