The U.S. Senate failed to pass legislation on Wednesday that would expand background checks for those wanting to buy guns, causing many people to become upset, including Gabrielle Giffords, the politician who was a victim of a tragic shooting near Tucson on Jan. 8, 2011 that left six people dead and 12 wounded.

In the wake of the tragic Dec. 14 school shooting in Newtown, CT, the debate over gun control in the US has been escalating. Plenty of strong emotions from opposing sides have risen – those who want to protect their access to guns and those who want legislators to gain a tighter hold on gun control.

On Monday, The Voice delivered a deeply moving performance of “Hallelujah” in honor of the victims of last week’s horrendous Newtown school shooting.
Coaches Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Cee Lo Green sang along with the talent show competition’s three finalists and social correspondent Christina Milian. The Voice’s host Carson Daly also performed.

Sunday night was tinged in emotion for the New York Giants. Especially for Victor Cruz.
During the team’s game against the Atlanta Falcons yesterday, our June-July 2012 cover model wrote the name “Jack Pinto” on his cleats and gloves. The gesture was a tender tribute to the 6-year-old boy, who was among those killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting last week in Newtown, Connecticut.
