'Queen of the Radio' Betty Pino Dies

U.S. Spanish radio has lost one of its most treasured voices. According to Huffington Post Latino Voices, Betty Pino died on Tuesday morning after battling an unknown bacterial infection. Pino, who worked for Univision’s Amor 107.5 FM in Miami, was known by many as the ‘Queen of the Radio.’

In mid-July, Pino was hospitalized and had been placed in an induced coma while doctors tried several different treatments.

Fans of Thalia will continue to hear her voice on the radio. According to LatinGossip.com, the Mexican singer and actress has signed a multi-year renewal of her syndication agreement as host of Conexion Thalia Radio Show

Thalia said she is extremely proud of the show. “Radio offers a very personal, one-to-one connection, which I always look forward to sharing each week with our listeners,” she told the website.
