He'd been battling pancreatic cancer for years before his death was confirmed in a brief statement by the company. It’s a huge year for both Prince Royce and Anthony “Romeo” Santos. The two New York-based Dominican-American bacheteros have crossed over from Spanish to English with huge success. Romeo, who has always weaved the two languages as a member of Aventura, is set to drop a solo album mixing elements of bachata, R&B, and pop with some English tracks. And Prince Royce, whose bilingual debut has remained at the top of the charts all year, will be releasing a full-length English album this year.
