Demi Lovato will bring her big voice back to the stage at the Do Something Awards, which will air Thursday, August 18 on VH1 and are being hosted by Glee star Jane Lynch. Lovato will perform her latest hit single, “Skyscraper.” The singer is nominated for two awards, Do Something Charity Song and Do Something TV Star. This will be her first performance since her stint in rehab for emotional and physical issues.

New York Jets quarterback, Mark Sanchez, is putting his time during the football lockout to good use. He’s partnered up with Sam’s Club and the charity campaign Giving Made Simple.
“Basically what Sam’s Club is doing is donating $2 million through the month of July to four different charities. Alliance for a Healthier Generation, The Y[MCA], Oasis, and Sesame Street, all different demographics and they’re promoting the prevention of chronic disease,” Sanchez said on ABC News.

According to the Los Angeles Times, George Lopez did quite the good deed this week. On June 4, the San Fernando (Calif.) High baseball team won the Los Angeles City Section Division I title. Not only their triumph was a big deal because they earned their title and a championship ring. It also was their first title since 1991, claiming their victory 8-6 over Chatsworth at Dodger Stadium.

The Black Eyed Peas will perform a benefit concert on June 9 in New York City’s Central Park. The band teamed up with Z100 radio station and the Robin Hood Foundation for the performance, proceeds will help fight poverty in the city.
“This isn’t helping some person that’s halfway across the world. This is somebody you walk by every day – it’s personal,” Fergie told Elvis Duran of the Z100 Morning Show. “It’s about the love in New York.”
