October 15 marks National Latino AIDS Awareness Day. The NLAAD campaign works annually at building capacity for non-profit organizations and health departments in order to reach the Latino community, promote HIV testing and provide HIV prevention and access to care.

Ben Affleck was born to play a Latino on the big screen and he’s willing to prove it.
The 40-year-old actor stars as retired CIA agent Tony Mendez in the thriller Argo, which dominated the box office and earned a cool $20 million during opening weekend.
During a press junket, Ben showed off his Spanish skills and gave People en Español readers’ three reasons to watch the film.

In a video for the new campaign by super PACs Jewish Council for Education and Research and American Bridge 21st Century, Rosie Perez feigns sympathy for Mitt Romney, targeting (and mocking) the comment he made at a May fundraiser that it "would be helpful to be Latino" to get elected president.
Perez, who has campaigned for Obama in the past, makes jokes that the election would be even more "in the bag" if Romney were a "lesbian Latina."

For 6-year-old brain cancer patient, Nico Castro, Halloween is the most important day of the year. The young boy, who was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, is undergoing chemotherapy at the Kaiser Permanente’s Oakland Medical Center in California.
Although Nico was cleared for treatment in time for Halloween, he grew concerned for other sick children who may not be home for the special holiday. “I don’t want them to miss out on candy,” said Nico to Today.com.
