Another Latino crossover artist is emerging! Natalia Jimenez—whose beautiful, passionate vocals won us over as the lead singer of La Quinta Estación—is releasing her first self-titled solo album! Emilio Estefan produced Jimenez’s debut album and encouraged her to record three songs in English with the translation help of his wife, Gloria Estefan.

Prolific supergroup Ozomatli have spent sixteen years bringing the voice of Mexican immigrants to mainstream America, and now they’re taking their message to the big screen. The Los Angeles-based group was asked by Twilight: New Moon and About a Boy director Chris Weitz to write a song for his new film A Better Life, the story of a Mexican gardener in Los Angeles working hard to keep his son away from gang culture while trying to dodge la migra.

We told you to keep an eye out for Natalia Jimenez, who first caught our eye as the lead vocalist for Spanish pop band, La 5a Estacion.
