Roselyn Sanchez may be a happy new mom in real life—she gave birth to daughter Sebella Rose on Jan. 4—but starting Feb. 24 she showcases her darkest film role yet, as a kidnapped undercover CIA agent in the thriller Act of Valor.
What made you want to take on this role?
This wasn’t a traditional role for me, which is why I was drawn to it. I play a CIA agent and I get kidnapped, beaten and raped in the film, so it was very intense. When I was in the moment, I thought, “Oh my God, what did I get myself into?”

Panamanian actor and musician Ruben Blades is back on-screen! The 63-year-old is starring in the action-packed thriller Safe House. The movie includes a set of A-list actors including Ryan Reynolds and Denzel Washington. Blades plays a character named Toby Frost in the new flick directed by Daniel Espinosa.

The 35-year-old Argentinean actress recently received a nomination for “Leading Actress” for her role as Peppy Miller in The Artist at this year’s British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards. The Golden Globe-winning film and Oscar favorite directed by Bejo’s husband, Michel Hazanavicius snagged a total of 12 nominations including, “Best Film,” “Best Director,” and “Best Leading Actor” (for Jean Dujardin’s role as George Valentin) just to name a few.
