We recently spoke to Fernanda Romero, the star of mun2s bilingual series, RPM Miami. Romera plays badass chica Luisa, a struggling single mom who races cars at night (a la The Fast & The Furious). The edgy Mexican actress shared with us her Latina inspiration: “I do love Michelle [Rodriquez]. I think she’s badass, of course.” Which made us think of some of our favorite tough ladies. The star of ABC’s V, Morena Baccarin, is in the running to play the role of Nick Fury’s (Samuel Jackson) sidekick in The Avengers. Others being considered for the female role are Cobie Smulders (How I Met Your Mother), Jessica Lucas (Melrose Place) and Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World).

Have you heard the news?! Wonder Woman, the 1940s DC Comics classic that was brought into our homes in the '70s via half-Mexican kick-ass queen of her day Lynda Carter, is in production to be released as a movie! (We're polishing off our action figures.)

Latinos don’t fit into any one mold. We come in all shapes, sizes and colors—and our TV stars are no exception. Last week, Latina.com reader Maria Ortiz proved that when she pointed out that Glee star, Lea Michelle, is actually part-Spanish (she has Sephardic Jewish heritage) on our Facebook fan page. Maria’s observation prompted us to think of other Latin TV stars who people might not know are Latin.
