The buzz behind Machete is growing and we got our hands on this sneak peek of Robert Rodriguez's "Mexploitation" flick so you can see what's in store for you when you head to the theaters this holiday weekend. But watcher beware, this movie has a lot of blood and guts (literally) and this scene is no exception.

The film Machete opens in theaters this Friday, and although Michelle Rodriguez is one of our coolest reasons for watching the movie, the coolest part for her was working with director Roberto Rodriguez. "He’s very creative and the mind will go anywhere with his exploitation genre," said the outspoken actress.

After producing this summer’s Predators reboot, bad boy Texican filmmaker Robert Rodriguez is back with Machete, starring tough-guy Danny Trejo as a double-crossed ex-Mexican federale. With Rodriguez’s trademark over-the-top violence and butt-kicking chicks and its "We-didn’t-cross-the-border; the-border-crossed-us" take on the immigration issue, the movie is bound to create controversy. When we spoke to Rodriguez, though, he insisted it was all in the name of giving moviegoers a much needed good time.

Yesterday, a Federal judge overturned the controversial Proposition 8 ban on same-sex marriage that defined marriage solely as a partnership between a man and woman. The ban was passed in California back in 2008. In ruling that the ban violated the civil rights of gay and lesbian couples, U.S. District Chief Judge Vaughn R. Walker wrote, "Proposition 8 both unconstitutionally burdens the exercise of the fundamental right to marry and creates an irrational classification on the basis of sexual orientation."

We caught up with Michelle Rodriguez on the red carpet of the New York International Latino Film Festival for the premiere of her new film Tropico de Sangre. Rodriguez stars in the film as Minerva Mirabal, one of the inspiring Mirabal sisters in the Dominican Republic who dared to defy the ruthless dictator Rafael Trujillo—which eventually lead to their assassination in a sugar field.
