Next Tuesday is election day and the nation is watching the Latino community to see what our impact will be. Here is a round up of the important races and issues that affect our community.
Senate candidate Marco Rubio is ahead of Democrat Kendrick Meek and independent Charlie Crist in the race for congressional office. Rubio has been making waves as the Tea Party's Latino darling and it looks like he just might run away with the seat because Democrats are split between Crist and Meek.

Meg Whitman, who earlier this month made a tequila-soaked confession that she couldn’t win California’s gubernatorial race without Latinos, is giving off another whiff of desperation. With just days left before elections, and seriously trailing Jerry Brown among Latinos in polls, she’s unleashed Spanish-language TV ads that make it look as if she’s been against Arizona’s SB1070 law.

Meg Whitman—former EBay CEO and current Republican candidate for Governor of California—was sued last week by her former maid, an undocumented immigrant named Nicky Diaz Santillan.
The controversy came back to haunt her at a tense debate over the weekend at California State University, Fresno. The debate was aimed at California's huge Latino constituency and was to air statewide on Spanish-language television.
