There was tons of speculation that Mariah Carey was planning the wedding bash to end all wedding bashes after her quickie marriage to Nick Cannon. The once larger-than-life diva, however, is getting pretty good at quietly throwing off the media frenzy. She finally had that party last weekend, but it wasn't the grandiose spectacle we expected. In fact it was "about the most elegant, laid-back event of the Hamptons season so far, and also the most private," according to Fox News.

Mariah Carey has watched tabloids and blogs make up crazy rumors about her (She bathes in Dom Perignon! She has Nick on a curfew!) without so much as batting a fake eyelash. But now, the singer is ready to set the record straight. The ink is barely dry on their twin tattoos, but Nick Cannon may already be wishing his was in Sharpie. UK's News of the World reports that all is not well between the actor/DJ and his wife Mariah Carey, claiming Mimi's diva antics are to blame for their domestic un-bliss. "Things are really bad between them. The honeymoon period was over before it began. Nick's been surprised at just how demanding his wife is," a source reveals to the gossip rag. Umm, maybe Nick should have Google'd his bride-to-be before saying "I Do"?

What do you get the girl who has everything? Just ask the bridal registry department at Bergdorf Goodman. Even though Mariah Carey's attempts to finally throw a wedding party were thwarted by her failure to get a photo agency to pay for it, she still expects gifts from her high-class friends.
Some things she's still wishing and hoping and praying and waiting for: a sterling silver frame for $1,695, and two dozen champagne flutes that cost about $500 each. You may think she's tacky, but you can't call Mimi cheap.

Looks like Mariah Carey's Manhattan wedding plans are nixed. After the quickie hitch to Nick Cannon in the Bahamas, a second wedding was in the works. "The small wedding in the Bahamas was nice, but it was not Mariah's style. The lady loves a spectacle," a source told MSNBC. Mariah had been planning an over-the-top affair with thousands of guests (Naomi Campbell had already rsvp’ed!) and 14 bridesmaids. But at a cost of over $4 million dollars, Mariah was hoping to pick up some of the tab through the sale of photographs.

When it comes to weddings, is it bad manners to ask for a gift and not even offer some cake? Mariah Carey certainly doesn't think so. The newly married diva promises to have annual lavish weddings with her husband Nick Cannon every year, but is still looking for wedding gifts from her first round of I Do's. If you didn't get to send a present, Mimi wants you to know she's registered at high-end New York department store Bergdorf Goodman. Her assistant send out 100 emails to her rich pals letting them know that is not too late to send a gift.
