When Marcelo Lucero was murdered in March of 2009, his mother traveled from Ecuador to the US for the first time to ensure that her son murderers were brought to justice. She may finally get what she came for, although more than a year later, as the defense for boy accused of his murder rested last week.

Rosario Lucero hadn't seen her son Marcelo in 14 years, since the day he left his native Ecuador for the United States, determined to make a better life for his family. Ever since then she says she's been “counting the hours, the minutes” until she could see him again.
