Off the Map, the highly anticipated new medical drama from Grey’s Anatomy executive producer, Shonda Rhimes, premieres January 12 at 10 p.m. on ABC. The show is set in the South American jungle and stars Cuban actress Valerie Cruz as Zitajalehrena “Zee” Alvarez, a no-nonsense Latina doctor who trains American doctors to practice medicine in the third world.

ABC has finally announced Wednesday, January 12th at 10 p.m. as the premiere date for Off the Map! As you can tell, we're super excited for this new medical drama set in a tiny town in the South American jungle from Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes. The show stars two Latinas—Valerie Cruz and Aimee Garcia, both of whom you’ve probably seen on other hit TV shows.

—Courtney Ford, who was exquisite as sociopathic journalist Christine Hill on Showtime’s Dexter, has just landed a major recurring role on season 4 of HBO’s True Blood, debuting next summer. According to TVGuide.com, Ford will play Andy’s (Chris Bauer) sister Portia Bellefleur, who is an attorney—and we’re betting—a witch!
