Avatar actress Michelle Rodriguez, born Mayte Michelle Rodriguez, has always wanted to be seen as just an actress not a Latina actress. But this doesn't mean that Michelle doesn't love her Dominican and Puerto Rican roots.

The cast of NBC's Celebrity Apprentice has never looked better! Mendoza’s charity of choice is the Latino Commission on AIDS, an organization she’s been involved with since 2008.

The frustrating ironies of being Afro-Latina hit Yuly Marshall with stunning regularity: At work at a Miami hospital, Hispanic patients of the Cuban-born radiology technician usually assume she’s African American, asking her, “Where did you learn to speak Spanish like that?” and expressing shock—even skepticism—that she’s really Latina. Other times, fellow Latinos will disparage African Americans in front of her with phrases like, “What can you expect from negros?” and then turn around and tell her, as if paying her a compliment, “But you’re not like that. You’re one of us.”

The time is rapidly approaching for us to finally see Ricky Martin do his thing on Broadway!
As we’ve been reporting for months now, our gorgeous February 2012 cover model will star in the highly anticipated musical Evita, which will begin its previews on March 12.
We did a little more digging, then realized Martin isn’t alone on Broadway. There are other Latino stars who have pranced around stage and sang their hearts out recently and otherr who, like Martin, are ready to hit the stage this spring.
