If for some reason you are not a Twilight fanatic yet, here’s another reason (besides the hot boys) to pay close attention to the latest installment of the vampy franchise, Breaking Dawn.

I am just 10 days away from my wedding and I’m finally starting to get a little nervous! Not necessarily because of the commitment I’m making to the love of my life, but because I want to make sure I get all the little things done for the wedding. I have been so on point with checking things off my list that I don’t want to forget anything now.

Although I must admit I haven't really been going by a legit "to-do" list like most brides, I think I've been doing pretty well keeping everything organized and getting things done.

When thinking of a perfect father/daughter song to dance at my wedding, what comes to mind is an old school salsa song. I know some of you may think it’s a bit impersonal and not typical father/daughter music to dance to, but there are several reason why a salsa song is very fitting for my papi and I.

With the string of horrible stories that have come out over the last few weeks (Weinergate, The Love Governator, etc.), we can't blame anyone who is leery of the institution of marriage. But there seems to be a shift in society in general when it comes to thoughts about marriage and monogamy and whether or not these things are really necessary in modern times. As a matter of fact, for the first time ever, non-married people outnumbered married couples in the 2010 census count.

I finally chose my wedding dress and while I am absolutely in love with it, I couldn’t be more excited about my shoes! Anyone who knows me knows I love fashion and above all else I am a shoe fiend. I DIE for a rockin’ pair of sky high stilettos (or any shoe for that matter), so when it came to buying my wedding shoes, I didn’t cut on costs and got these spectacular fancy red soled Christian Louboutins. Afterall, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to buy shoes of this caliber. I saw them and I just knew they were the shoes I had to wear on my wedding day.

While I was still working on other details of the wedding I realized my mom had been patiently waiting for me to call on her. My sister (her only other daughter) eloped, so you can imagine her excitement to be involved in my wedding. I learned early on in this process that if you involve too many people you will get frustrated if they impose on your decision-making, so my plan was to try and include the people close to me in individual things, making it special for them as well. My mom loves clothes and shopping, so naturally I wanted her to shop with me for my wedding dress.

I’m so happy to say that Hec is better and I can get back to wedding planning. Now that I found the venue, it was time to research vendors. My priorities were finding a florist, photographer, and a priest to officiate our wedding. A DJ is the one thing the groom-to-be decided to handle himself, hence why everything else has been checked off the list except that (sigh).

Now that Hector is not involved in the planning process everything (in my head) has changed. I hope he doesn’t regret it later because he’s given me the green light and there’s no turning back now—I have a vision!
