Nothing looks worse than chapped lips, and if you’re anything like me, you suffer from something I’d like to call “constant dry lip syndrome” during the brutal winter season. These days, I have to moisturize my lips twice as much to keep them soft. But sometimes not even the best lip repair can help! At times like these I try abuela’s brown sugar lip scrub. This delicious scrub exfoliates my lips, removing flakes and peeling skin. For this recipe you’ll need a quarter teaspoon of olive oil, a tiny bit of brown sugar and a small bowl for mixing.

There’s no question that our award for best hair of the night goes to jazz star Esperanza Spalding! Her gorgeous afro has always been her signature look, and we loved how she rocked it last night. For her acceptance speech for Best New Artist, Esperanza sculpted her hair into an updo, and then loosened it up in the press room.

A recent Pantene survey found that 44% of men surveyed said that hair is the first thing they notice about a woman—more than her clothes (26%), legs (25%), or makeup (4%). So, for the biggest impact this Valentine’s Day, focus your energy on your locks!
Here are our three favorite celeb-inspired V-Day styles:

Last year, Christina Aguilera told Latina that she wants her red lips (which she paints on using LipSense Liquid Lip Color in Blu-Red, $22, senegence.com) to be her signature look.
Clearly her peroxide blond hair is a signature, too—she hasn’t really strayed from either for years. It’s not that this look doesn’t work for her, but remember how chic her chin-length bob at last year's Golden Globe awards was? Or how blue her eyes looked when she had dark hair? We love it when she breaks out of her usual style!

If there’s one thing the Latina staff could all agree on about the Super Bowl halftime show, it's that Fergie’s hair was super gorgeous. To get tons of extra volume and a few more inches, the Black Eyed Pea clipped in temporary extensions for her moment in the national spotlight. Clip-in extensions are easy to attach, stay secure for hours (even if you bounce on stage like Fergie), and won’t damage hair since they’re temporary (hairextensions.com offers lots of options, or a hairstylist can make a set).

When it comes to makeup, there’s really nothing more dramatic (or risky) than switching up your lipstick. Case in point: these Latina celebrity pouts. The question is, do you love it or should they leave it?

The winter season makes us all want to slick on ruby red, burgundy and other dark nail lacquers. Our fingertips may look pretty with those polishes on, but a lot of times when you remove these dark colors, nails are left brittle and with a very unflattering yellow stain.

While snow blanketed half the country last night, we stared longingly at Jennifer Lopez’s bronzed skin, nude glossy lips, and blond-streaked hair on American Idol last night.
The Milwaukee auditions were shot in July, so it makes sense that our favorite judge is so very sun-kissed. Still, it’s inspiring us to dust off our bronzer to give our skin a much needed color boost. What about you?
