Chespirito, also known by his government name Roberto Gomez Bolaños, received the Legend Award at the 25th Annual Hispanic Heritage Awards last week. The 82-year-old legendary Mexican actor is best known for his role in El Chavo del Ocho, a Televisa show that centers on the adventures of an orphan named Chavo and other inhabitants of an apartment building. Bolaños, who created the sitcom, played the orphan, who was named El Chavo.

William Levy received a surprise for his 31st birthday, when his mother and grandmother surprised the Cuban actor with a party. The 39-year-old superstar, one of the most beloved and internationally known Latino recording artists in the world, will be recognized for his accomplishments both on and off the stage at the ceremony, which will be held on Sept. 15 at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington D.C. Mexican actress Maite Perroni and Cuban actor William Levy will host the awards gala.
