We were bummed to hear that Johnny Depp pulled out of the lead role in the verbosely-titled Seven Friends of Pancho Villa and the Woman with Six Fingers, because come on, you can never get enough Depp. But our frowns turned upside down the minute we heard who is up to replace him! Two new contenders have emerged for the role of the Mexican revolutionary general: Benicio del Toro and Gael Garcia Bernal. It’s a tough choice since both are so talented (and sexy!) so we need your input:

The new trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides has dropped and in it we finally get a glimpse of Penelope Cruz in her role as Angelica, a mysterious woman from Captain Jack Sparrow's past! Of course, Johnny Depps positively nails his role as Sparrow, and we think we even caught a glimpse of Keith Richards playing his dad, unless our minds were playing tricks on us. Check it out for yourself and tell us:

We're relatively certain Penelope Cruz won't be commanding anywhere near Johnny Depp's staggering 35 million dollar salary if, as rumors have it, she signs on to play his love interest in the fourth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean series—but were super excited about the prospect nonetheless.
Movie industry insiders are saying that Cruz is in talks to star in the film, entitled Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, which will focus on Captain Jack Sparrow's early years and how he becomes so infamous.

And Salma Hayek is going to costar! While we're disappointed that the part of Pancho Villa isn't being given to any number of talented Latino actors who would kill the role if given the chance, we'd be livid if we didn't love Johnny Depp so much! And given the fact that he's just wrapped filming on The Rum Diaries in Puerto Rico and spends a ton of time in the Caribbean, he's practically Latino anyway, right?

Johnny Depp celebrated his 46th birthday in true Caribbean fashion on the island of Puerto Rico, where he's been filming his latest movie, The Rum Diaries, for the last few months. The crew surprised the actor after shooting had ended for the day in the Viejo San Juan section of the capital. Depp was lured out onto the balcony of the old colonial house to be greeted by a street filled with musicians and well-wishers shouting "¡Feliz Cumpleaños, cabrón!" before breaking out into song.

Johnny Depp is headed for la isla del encanto! The smoldering star will begin shooting his next film project, The Rum Diary—based on the book by deceased novelist Hunter S. Thompson—in Puerto Rico later this year, confirms Puerto Rico governor Luis Fortuño.
