Hot on the heels of rumors of a remake of the 1968 sci-fi cult classic Barbarella comes chatter about which Hollywood starlet may be tapped to reprise Jane Fonda's classic role. A movie insider confirms, “The script is underway and John Carpenter is set to direct so now it's all about finding the new Barbarella.”

Robert Rodriguez recently confirmed the cast for the full length film being made based on a trailer he shot called Machete as part of the Grindhouse double feature he directed alongside Quentin Tarantino. Danny Trejo has long been signed on to play the lead, but rumors have been swirling for weeks surrounding who would be filling out the ensemble cast.

It’s been over a year since Latina put Jessica Alba on the cover to address widespread rumors that she wasn’t proud of her Mexican heritage and didn’t want to be called Latina. At the time, many readers were angry that we featured the actress, accusing her of being a bad role model for Latinas. Others were grateful to finally hear Alba’s side of the story, and were relieved to learn that she is, in fact, very proud of who she is.
