It seems now that a Mexican businessman, who is linked to the company owning the jet that crashed and killed Jenni Rivera along with six others, has been convicted of forging aircraft records, counterfeiting government inspection stamps and drug-trafficking charges, according to Univision.

The remains of Jenni Rivera were recovered overnight near the crash site in Northern Mexico. The LearJet 25 carrying the 43-year-old regional Mexican singer and six others crashed in the mountains 60 miles south of Monterrey on Sunday. According to People en Español, La Diva de la Banda’s “unrecognizable” remains were transferred to the Hospital Universitario in the capital of Monterrey.

The plane carrying Jenni Rivera that crashed had a previous malfunction a few years back, reports confirm. The plane, which crashed in the mountains 60 miles south of Monterrey, Mexico on Sunday, had failed during a 2005 takeoff attempt from an Amarillo, Texas airport, reports the New York Daily News.

On Sunday, December 9, a plane carrying Jenni Rivera and several others went missing as it flew from Monterey to Toluca, Mexico. As news started to spread, Latino stars who respected her and were close to her started to pray and react to her disappearance on social media.
