Javier Bardem visited Jay Leno last night in his first talk show appearance since his wife Penelope Cruz gave birth to their son, who may (or may not be) named Leo according to new reports from Spanish media outlets who claim that director Santiago Segura let the name slip to local press. Segura was attempting to chastise the local paparazzi, telling them, "I know what you want and you don't understand why they don't come running to show off the baby and say, 'Look, here's Leo,' "

The beautiful and tragic film, written and directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu (Amores Perros, Babel, 21 Grams) follows Bardem's character Uxbal, a poor man living in the slums of Barcelona with two kids and a drug addict wife who finds out that he has terminal cancer and only a few months left to live.

Javier Bardem won the International Star award at the opening ceremony for the Palm Springs International Film Festival over the weekend and the Spanish actor took the opportunity to thank his wife Penelope Cruz.
In a rare instance of public acknowledgement (the duo are notoriously private about their relationship) he dedicated the award to Cruz, saying: "I want to share this with my love, with Penelope, for the wonderful human being that she is. She is a gift..."
