Last night, we caught up with the ever-dapper Wilmer Valderrama for a few moments on the red carpet for the premiere of his new film The Dry Land (costarring America Ferrera) at the New York International Latino Film Festival. Like a lot of Latinos, Valderrama had the situation in Arizona on his mind. We asked the actor why he feels it is important to speak out and oppose SB 1070 and caught his answer on film.

District Judge Susan Bolton has issued an injunction blocking key parts of Arizona's SB 1070 from going into effect tomorrow, amid a mass exodus of Latinos from the state.

Taboo, of the Black Eyed Peas has recorded a song protesting Arizona's SB 1070 bill, scheduled to go into effect tomorrow, July 29th. He starts off the single, entitled "One Heart, One Beat" by spelling out the motivation behind the recording. "It takes one person to stand up for what he believes in," says Taboo. "I believe there’s been an injustice in Arizona.

Arizona's SB 1070 is set to go into effect this Thursday, July 29, and the lead-up to D-day has elicited a variety of reactions from Latin America leaders. Many countries, including Mexico, Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Paraguay, have filed motions against the law.

The lawsuit filed by the United States Department of Justice challenging Arizona's new immigration laws SB 1070 is finally getting it's day in court. The first hearing was held last Thursday, just a week before the new laws are set to go into effect.
