Meet the new Usnavi! Now that Tony (and Grammy) Award-winner Lin-Manuel Miranda is officially bowing out of In the Heights, the Broadway show's new starring attraction is Nuyorican native Javier Muñoz, who's been dutifully playing understudy to Miranda (as well as taking on the roles of Usnavi's cousin, Sonny, and bad boy Graffiti Pete) for some time.

The producers of Broadway musical In the Heights recently announced that they have recouped their 10 million dollar investment. This is a huge deal for the show, based around the traditionally Latino neighborhood of Washington Heights in upper Manhattan. By now, you might have heard the truly awesome news that In The Heights, the Tony Award-sweeping musical that propelled its creator Lin-Manuel Miranda to instant success, is headed for the multiplex. Universal Pictures picked up the rights to the Broadway show just last week, and we're giddy at the idea of seeing our favorite Washington Heights homeboy and his lotto-winning abuelita on the big screen.

Jennifer Lopez seems to be done with making grand entrances. The mother of two, who at one point used to command attention on everything from the red carpet to the checkout aisle at the grocery store, celebrated her 39th birthday in uncharacteristically low-key style.

New York native Lin-Manuel Miranda had much to celebrate at the Tony Awards as he accepted the prizes for both Best Musical and most memorably, Best Score for his show In The Heights. Having written both the music and the lyrics of this play about the Latino neighborhood of Washington Heights where he was raised when he was just a sophomore at Wesleyan University in Connecticut, Lin-Manuel was living his dream just by attending the Tony Awards.
