Christina Aguilera traveled to Haiti earlier this week to meet children at two schools who have been receiving food through the World Food Programme's initiatives. Recently named a WFP Ambassador Against Hunger, Aguilera helped to serve the children meals of rice and beans and even set aside some time to sing "Happy Birthday to Haiti" with the kids as a symbol of the rebirth of the devastated nation.

Actress Angelina Jolie recently met with Haitian earthquake victims currently receiving medical care in a Dominican hospital. The U.N. Goodwill Ambassador traveled to the Dario Contrera Hospital located in the capital of Santo Domingo to tour the center and speak with several of the dozens of survivors, some of whom recognized Jolie and asked for her help.

Shakira is putting her money where her mouth is, as she so often does, by stepping up to the plate and announcing that her children's education non-profit Pies Descalzos will be helping to build a new school in Haiti. The Colombian pop star is partnering up with Pies Descalzos board member Howard Buffett (also the World Food Program Ambassador Against Hunger) and Architecture for Humanity to build the school.

Many areas of northern Haiti and all of the Dominican Republic seem to have remained relatively unaffected by the turmoil that has destroyed the capital city of Port Au Prince in Haiti. Royal Caribbean was the first to dock a cruise ship at the northern port of Labadee in Haiti since last week's devastating earthquake and now other luxury liners are following suit. In the Dominican Republic, the tourists are still lined up at the bars, sipping on rum drinks and playing water sports.

Though Lady Gaga has been getting a ton of the attention from the media these days, she is going to be forced to share the international spotlight when her Monster Ball tour stops in NYC tonight. Gaga is scheduled to play four (impressively) sold out shows at Radio City Music Hall, but Bronx-born bachata group Aventura managed to one-up her, selling out Madison Square Garden (which holds more than double the capacity of Radio City) for a quartet of concerts also kicking off this evening.
