Cuban-born singer Gloria Estefan and her husband Emilio Estefan will host President Barack Obama when he takes a trip down to Florida on April 15. The music industry power couple will throw their first ever political fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee. The pricey cocktail reception ($30,400 per couple for tickets) will be held at the Estefan's Miami Beach home.

A group of mothers, wives and daughters who regularly protest in the streets of Cuba for political prisoners were recently subject to brutal suppression by the authorities and heckled by supporters of the Castro dictatorship. During the protests on March 18, Cuban police dragged the women by their hair and onto a bus, arresting around 30 protesters, among them older women, before driving away.

Apparently, Miami Dolphin’s owner Stephen Ross wasn’t kidding when he said he wanted his team’s ownership to mirror the diversity of South Florida. About a month ago Gloria and Emilio Estefan purchased a minority share of the NFL team. But the Estefan's didn't have much time to revel in the fact that they were the first Cuban-American owners of any NFL team. Marc Anthony quickly followed suit, also buying into partial ownership of the Miami franchise.

With a number of Grammys and businesses under their belts, what more could pop power couple Gloria and Emilio Estefan possibly want? Dolphins, of course. No, not the fun-loving Flipper kind you’d find at Sea World—the Estefans are more interested in hard-hitting, helmet-wearing Dolphins.
