Jarrett Barrios, the Cuban-American President of GLAAD (the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) has just resigned from his post amid rumors that he was publicly supporting a merger between AT&T and T-mobile, which many thought was odd since the corporate transaction had very little to do with gay rights. In related news, it is rumored that AT&T recently donated $50,000 to GLAAD.

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) announced today that it will honor Grammy Award-winning singer, Ricky Martin with the Vito Russo Award at the 22nd Annual GLAAD Media Awards on Saturday March 19th in New York City.

Named after one of GLAAD’s founders, the award recognizes an openly LGBT media professional who has made a significant difference in promoting equal rights for the community.

Perez Hilton openly admitted to “making the split second decision to say what he thought "was the worst possible thing that thug [Will.I.Am] would ever want to hear” after a recent confrontation in Toronto. Perez succeeded in offending the Black Eyed Pea, but also managed to anger The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) and a number of those in the LGBT community.
