George Lopez paid a visit to Good Day LA and briefly talked about his ambitions to run for Mayor of Los Angeles, California in eight years—and no, he wasn't not joking. Why should he be? As Lopez himself says, "If Arnold Schwarzenegger can be governor, why can't George Lopez be the mayor of LA?"

—George Lopez may have moved his late-night talk show, Lopez Tonight from 11 p.m. to midnight, but the Mexican comedian is still as funny as ever. In last night’s premiere (after Conan), Lopez told a Latin-centric joke that made his audience split their sides: “60 years ago, a Latino and a redhead made TV history with I Love Lucy,” boasted George. “History repeats itself with Conan O’Brien and with George Lopez! Team Coco, say hello to team Loco!”

Back in April, George Lopez stunned a lot of people when he personally called up Conan O’Brien and asked him to join TBS’s late night lineup—even though bringing Coco to TBS meant he would have to move his own talk show, Lopez Tonight, to midnight. Lopez Tonight premieres tonight in its new timeslot after Conan.
