From Oct. 20 to Oct. 26, 2008, Mexico's best and brightest fashion designers showed their finery at Campo Marte in Mexico City for Mexico Fashion Week. In its tenth year, the event began as a minimal affair with one designer showing per night. "Today we have over 30 shows in six days," said José Andrés Patiño, FWM's general director to WWD. The lighting was gorgeous, the models were breathtaking and the clothes were innovative, smart and artfully executed.

L.A. Fashion Week has always held second candle to the more prestigious fashion weeks around the world: New York, Milan, London and Paris. After all, it's the city that gave Lauren Conrad carte blanche to create her unbelievably lame debut line! And all too often, the shows coming from Smashbox feel anemic and lackluster. Nevertheless, L.A. still attracts tons of celebrities to grace the front rows, especially Latina starlets.

Skinny doesn't begin to describe what models look like these days, and while Manhattanites will do as they do, writing articles (here's another) and holding panels about the lack of diverse faces and bodies on the runway after the fact, Spain is taking preemptive action.
