Style Scoop: Highlights From Mexico City Fashion Week

From Oct. 20 to Oct. 26, 2008, Mexico's best and brightest fashion designers showed their finery at Campo Marte in Mexico City for Mexico Fashion Week. In its tenth year, the event began as a minimal affair with one designer showing per night. "Today we have over 30 shows in six days," said José Andrés Patiño, FWM's general director to WWD. The lighting was gorgeous, the models were breathtaking and the clothes were innovative, smart and artfully executed.

Skinny doesn't begin to describe what models look like these days, and while Manhattanites will do as they do, writing articles (here's another) and holding panels about the lack of diverse faces and bodies on the runway after the fact, Spain is taking preemptive action.
