Two Chilean Miners Killed in Accidental Blast

Two miners were killed and a third critically injured when an accidental explosion ripped through a copper and gold mine in Chile—not far from where the heroic rescue of 33 Chilean miners occurred just weeks ago.

The miners were working in a new mine called Los Reyes, just 30 miles away from Copiapo. The San Jose mine where the 33 were saved is on the outskirts of Copiapo.

Video: Explosion Hits Gulf Facility in Puerto Rico

Caribbean Petroleum Corporation, a gasoline warehouse and distributor in San Juan, Puerto Rico exploded today. Officials said that there was a blast at 12:30 a.m. which caused 11 of the 40 tanks at the facility to burst into flames. Smoke and fire could be seen from miles away and only worsened hours after the explosion. FBI agents were on site to investigate the cause and firefighters are currently on scene attempting to contain the situation but told the press that it seems that It will take several days to put out the fire. Luckily, no one was seriously injured.
