Javier Bardem thinks he is dying. "I used to be a hypochondriac, but I was a young man then," Bardem admits to writer Chris Jones of Esquire magazine. "Now I really am sick." No matter that the strapping Spaniard seems have everything a man could possibly want: a gorgeous (pregnant!) wife, a fulfilling career, accolades from his peers, and status as an international sex symbol.

It's no surprise that Sofia Vergara is one of Esquire magazine's "Women We Love" in their September issue. Inside, the Colombian actress does cutesy poses in the places where men apparently think women are their sexiest—you know, the kitchen, the bathroom, etc. (See video from Sofia's photo shoot below.)

In response to Esquire's list of 75 Books Every Person Should Read (which we found ludicrously tilted in favor of old, dead white dudes), we decided to compile a list of the best literature every Latina should check out. Although we focused on Latin American literature, there are also a few universal masterpieces that we were compelled to include.
