A plan is in full swing to make a movie about late Colombian drug lord, Pablo Escobar, with director Brad Furman (The Lincoln Lawyer) at the helm. Escobar, who was murdered in 1993, once controlled 80 percent of the cocaine shipped to the United States and was named one of the ten richest people on earth by Fortune and Forbes magazines.

Yesterday we reported that Edgar Ramírez was nominated for an Emmy for Best Actor in a Mini-Series. The Venezuelan actor’s received an Emmy nod for his inspirational turn as fellow countryman and revolutionary Ilich Ramírez Sánchez (aka Carlos the Jackal) in the five and a half hour-long mini-series, Carlos. Nominations for the 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were announced this morning in the auditorium of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in North Hollywood, and two talented Latinos—Colombian actress Sofia Vergara and Venezuelan actor Edgar Ramirez were nominated for their work in the comedy series, Modern Family and the mini-series, Carlos respectively.

It's been six long years since we've seen Zorro on the big-screen. Famously played by a dashing and debonair Antonio Banderas, we were sort of the on the fence when we heard that FOX is working on a reboot of the franchise titled Zorro Reborn. Come on, can anyone really top Antonio? He was pretty much born to play the part.
