An image of Dora the Explorer with a black eye, posing for a mugshot and labeled as an "illegal" has been generating a lot of internet buzz.
Sometimes, we must admit, Dora the Explorer gets on our nerves—mainly due to her high pitched voice and endless repetition of catch phrases. But she definitely does not deserve the treatment she has received at the hands of anonymous online haters. There is even a Facebook group entitled "Dora the Explorer is so an illegal immigrant," which dedicates itself to bashing the beloved Nickelodeon character.

I am not a Dora the Explorer fan. Sure, I appreciate the fact that she is a good Latina role model for kids. Dessa gets a good dose of Dora from her grandma who has a couple of her books and I love the way my mother-in-law uses Dora as a tool to connect with Dessa's Latino culture. But still, I refuse to give in to the pint size adventurer. She just gets on my nerves; the monkey, the annoying voice, the Spanglish.

Many Latino families celebrate the tradition of Dia del Los Tres Reyes or Three Kings Day. For some kids, this is an even bigger celebration than Christmas! In an upcoming episode of Dora the Explorer, she helps the little ones understand the Latino traditions surrounding this special day. We talked to 12 year old Caitlin Sanchez, the adorable little girl who is the new voice of Dora about her own family’s traditions and how she feels about her big break.
Congratulations on your new gig, Caitlin! How do you like being the new voice of Dora?

As reported by Stroller Derby in their Top 9 Puzzling Dora Toys list, we found this Dora Aquapet equally as baffling!
Now don't get us wrong, we love Dora the explorer! She's been teaching thousands of kids how to speak monosyllabic Spanish for years now (although we could totally do without her annoying sidekick Boots).
