Nothing looks worse than chapped lips, and if you’re anything like me, you suffer from something I’d like to call “constant dry lip syndrome” during the brutal winter season. These days, I have to moisturize my lips twice as much to keep them soft. But sometimes not even the best lip repair can help! At times like these I try abuela’s brown sugar lip scrub. This delicious scrub exfoliates my lips, removing flakes and peeling skin. For this recipe you’ll need a quarter teaspoon of olive oil, a tiny bit of brown sugar and a small bowl for mixing.

The winter season makes us all want to slick on ruby red, burgundy and other dark nail lacquers. Our fingertips may look pretty with those polishes on, but a lot of times when you remove these dark colors, nails are left brittle and with a very unflattering yellow stain.

It always surprises me how healthy and shiny abuela’s hair looks at her age and it’s because she is constantly using natural treatments on her locks that have been in the family for years! One of our favorites is an avocado hair masque. You're probably wondering: Why would I smear green goop all over my head? Well, avocado contains proteins and natural oils that moisturize and nourish your hair. This masque also calls for shea butter, which helps protect and repair a dry and damaged mane. Dedicate your Saturday afternoon to some self-pampering and try this DIY masque.
