Although many are criticizing Arizona Governor Jan Brewer's recent assertion on local TV station KTVK that most immigrants trying to cross the border into Arizona are "drug mules," it's not the first time the Governor has made this argument. During a debate between the Arizona's four Republican candidates for governor earlier this month, Brewer made the same claims. This past weekend, when asked by a local reporter to clarify her argument, she said, "Well, we all know that the majority of the people that are coming to Arizona and trespassing are now becoming drug mules.

A few months ago, we told you about a U.S. rep from San Diego who supported a ban that would keep natural-born U.S. children from receiving citizenship if their parents were undocumented. We figured this idea wouldn't, or couldn't, go very far considering the fact that the fourteenth amendment of the constitution protects that basic right for all citizens born on U.S. soil, but it looks like the push is gaining momentum in some political circles.

Los Tigres del Norte, Juanes, Calle 13, Café Tacuba, Cypress Hill and Ozomatli are just some of the growing number of Latino musicians boycotting Arizona in protest of the state’s controversial immigration law (SB 1070). The new law goes into effect on July 31st of this year and requires police officers to stop anyone they suspect may be in the country illegally.

An image of Dora the Explorer with a black eye, posing for a mugshot and labeled as an "illegal" has been generating a lot of internet buzz.
Sometimes, we must admit, Dora the Explorer gets on our nerves—mainly due to her high pitched voice and endless repetition of catch phrases. But she definitely does not deserve the treatment she has received at the hands of anonymous online haters. There is even a Facebook group entitled "Dora the Explorer is so an illegal immigrant," which dedicates itself to bashing the beloved Nickelodeon character.

What can we say about Arizona Governor Jan Brewer? We must admit, we had no idea who she was until she upped and signed that crazy new immigration law into effect in Arizona. But since that fateful day a few weeks ago, it seems like there is no escaping her, or her insistence on passing insane laws that demonize Latinos in a state where 30+% of the population is Hispanic.

Maybe you were surprised (we doubt it), maybe you were happy for him, but chances are, you had an opinion. Rumors have been swirling about Martin's sexuality for more than a decade. So, the real question is: Why do people care so much if Ricky Martin is gay?
