Cuban born recording artist Cucu Diamantes (of Yerba Buena fame) was recently scheduled to perform at Union City High School in New Jersey, but the show was canceled after her performance at Juanes's controversial Paz Sin Fronteras concert in Havana, Cuba.
The New Jersey Board of Education apparently received complaints from some community members and subsequently decided to cancel the show. A statement released by the board said:

Cucu Diamantes has officially gone solo. The multi-culti Yerba Buena frontwoman's debut album, Cuculand (produced by her creative and life partner, Andres Levin) drops this week after two years in the making, and its ecstatic collision of global beats—from salsa and tango to hip-hop and flamenco—proves that it was well worth the wait.

If you’re going to be in New York City on March 19 or Miami on April 25, do we have a treat for you! Five people will be selected to win a pair of tickets to see Yerba Buena frontwoman Cucu Diamantes live in concert in New York, where the multi-ethnic and fabulous singer will perform new music from her solo debut, Cuculand (out next Tuesday, March 17). A few weeks later, Cucu will do it again in Miami, and we’re giving away five pairs of tickets to that concert as well.

Cielo Latino is the country's largest fundraiser for a Latino cause. Money raised goes to the Latino Commission on AIDS and the event always draws an influential crowd. This year, our best and brightest came out in full force to lend their support.
