Ariel Castro, the Cleveland man who held three women captive for over a decade, was found dead on Tuesday night after apparently committing suicide.

According to The New York Times, officials say Castro was found hanging in his cell at the Correctional Reception Center in Orient, Ohio, at 9:20 p.m.

Two of the three brothers, Onil Castro, 50, and Pedro Castro, 54, suspected of the kidnap and rape of three women have been released. Ariel Castro, 52, admitted to acting alone in the crime, which included a 10-year rape and torture of Amanda Berry, 27, Gina DeJesus, 23, and Michelle Knight, 32. The Puerto Rican suspect is facing four charges of kidnap, one for each woman and the 6-year-old child whom he fathered with Berry. He was also charged with three counts of rape.
