Cinco de Mayo has become quite the controversy. Seeing non-Latinos walking around plastered and wearing sombreros every May 5 is annoying. Having to educate folks about it marking Mexico's short-lived victory over the French back in 1862 is exhausting. Which is why we invite you to sit back, relax and let the Internet gods do the talking for you.

It’s Cinco de Mayo not Mexican Independence Day. The day marks May 5, 1862 when Mexico defeated the French at the Battle of Puebla; a short-lived, overrated victory that in the U.S. has become a good excuse to party. Whether you partake or not, sombreros and drinking will be had. Chips and salsa are on sale at your local supermarket and celebrities are probably on their fifth margarita by now. To prepare you for the Mexican version of St. Patrick’s Day, here are 10 celebs who look ready to shout “Tequila!”

Ah, Cinco de Mayo. A day of fun, food, and plenty of margaritas. This year, as you plan your fiesta, don't skimp on the snacks. Mexico has a rich and delicious cultural heritage that spans the gamut from small savory bites to indulgent sweets. So, while you're mixing up a pitcher of your favorite margarita, spend some time in the kitchen loading up on savory skirt steak tacos, fresh from the ocean ceviche tostadas, smoky chicken flautas, and plenty of warm tortillas to serve alongside with chunky, rich fresh guacamole and spicy salsas.
