We hear it all of the time from Latino stars: In order for Latinos to continue making progress in Hollywood, Latin actors have to be able to play any role—not just Latino roles. Fortunately for us, there are already many Latino stars who have shown Hollywood that we're capable of doing just that. Here are nine Latino stars who play non-Latin roles all of the time (brilliantly we might add), and are showing Hollywood casting execs that they're not "great Latino actors" but rather great actors...period!

—There are conflicting reports about whether or not Demi Lovato and actor Ryan Philippe are an item. According to PerezHilton.com, the former Disney star and actor had dated casually. But a rep for the actor, who is twice Lovato’s age, insists that the story is false and that Phillipe is “totally single.” Phew!

Ahhh, love—so exciting and new! Until, all of a sudden, it's not anymore.
Unfortunately, all weddings do not end in happily ever after. As Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony can attest—they announced they’re calling it quits today!—it's harder to maintain marital bliss than it seems. At least they can take some consolation in the fact that they are far from the only famous Latino couple to fizzle out.

Two & A Half Men is going all Wile Coyote on Charlie Sheen.
According to mulitiple reports, the hit CBS sitcom plans to write off Sheen's character, Charlie Harper in order to prevent Sheen from ever returning to the series, and they're thinking of doing it by having Charlie drive off a cliff!

—Charlie Sheen is reportedly in “deep negotiations” with a broadcast network for a new sitcom that would go straight-to-series writes Deadline.com. According to the website, the 45-year-old actor, who has been replaced by Ashton Kutcher on comedy series Two and a Half Men, took a meeting in March with Fox.

The Lake Elsinore Storm (a Class A California League affiliate of the Padres) has invited Charlie Sheen to a for a “rehab assignment,” as part of a "Sheen-co De Mayo" celebration on May 5. The team will retire the No. 99 Jersey (which Sheen wore in his role as Ricky Vaughn in the the movie, Major League), and will host a rehab-style party featuring "tigerblood cocktails” and a “two-for-one Ho Ho’s” special.
